Eviclona launch

Introduction

The VidjilNet consortium is entering a new chapter. To further support, scale, and professionalize the Vidjil project, we are launching a dedicated startup: Eviclona.

Eviclona remains fully committed to the core mission that has driven Vidjil for over a decade: advancing open-source bioinformatics tools and empowering academic and scientific research. At the same time, Eviclona will bring a higher level of professional rigor required for routine clinical adoption.

To achieve this, we are actively pursuing CE marking / IVDR regulatory compliance for both our platform and processes. This milestone will formally certify our software for medical-grade environments, providing clinical laboratories with the compliance, security, and quality assurances they require.

We invite you to reach out to our team today to learn more about the transition roadmaps, timelines, and how this evolution will benefit your institution.

Consortium Transition & Roadmap

To ensure a smooth handoff while establishing the new regulatory and operational structure, the VidjilNet consortium is undergoing a structured transition phase:

  • Contract Freeze: No new consortium contracts or renewals have been initiated since February 2026.
  • Consortium Closure: An official notification letter will announce the formal closure of the VidjilNet consortium, scheduled for the end of 2026.
  • Transition & Grace Period: A dedicated multi-month buffer period has been established to assist existing partners during the transition.
  • Engineering & Core Team Transfer: Key engineers and technical leads are transitioning from the academic consortium to Eviclona to guarantee continuous technical expertise and continuity.

Platform & Clinical Service Changes

During this interim phase, operational changes apply to the existing consortium platform:

  • Analysis Cap: No new clinical analysis runs can be initiated on the legacy consortium platform.
  • Support Phase-Out: Routine user support for legacy analyses on the consortium infrastructure will gradually come to an end.
  • Clinical Feature Freeze: Updates and new feature deployments on the legacy platform are paused as technical efforts concentrate on the clinical-grade Eviclona platform.
